Session : 169th Date: December 06, 2008
It was 168th session of smart club and the session began 10 minutes late i.e. at 8:10 A.M. in the same PIC hall. Mr. Rebati Ram Poudel was the coordinator for the session and he commenced the session with the introduction and even gave the general idea about the smart club. He welcomed he OCA for the day i.e. Mr. Santosh Acharya and started off with his permission.
Mr. Madan Raj Bhatta was the PDS for the day and he gave speech on the pre-decided topic ‘Export of Rhesus monkey’. He figured out reasons behind collecting monkeys. Its merits &demerits finally appealing not to export monkeys in such a large quantity or will reach in the state of getting extinct. Similarly, SDS Mr. Mim Bahadur Tamang spoke on the topic Nepal unique Tourist venue of the world. In his speech he mainly emphasized on the scenic beauty of Nepal. Talked about the cause behind the uniqueness and also said that Nepal got so much of potentialities but really needed was to unleash the potentiality. Similarly, Impromptu Mr. Manish Joshi gave his speech on World in Terror & Attack in Mumbai. In his speech he focused more in world issue rather than Mumbai. He talked about how the terror is spreading in the world and even shared his idea on Mumbai Attack. He gave more time in welcoming the questions from the floor.
After speakers, it was the time for commentators & the commentator for PDS was Mr. Nikunja Bhandari. According to Mr. Bhandari the speech delivered by PDS was pretty confusing whether he was supporting the export of monkey or was against it. Similarly, commentator for SDS Mr. Ayush Joshi stressed upon the fact that PDS was bit nervous, rigid but had a pretty good content. Another commentator for Impromptu Mr. Sudan Bhandari commented on the speech by Impromptu. According to him speech was fluent, speaker had good body language & eye contact too but lacked god content.
With this the role of commentators was over and thus Grammarian Mr. Tarun Manandhar was welcomed to detect the grammatical flaws made by the speakers and commentators. Then, Time Keeper was Sabina Kadaria made the audience aware with the time taken by different role takers. Similarly, Aha counter Mr. Man Bahadur Saud talked about the ahas, oohs, unnecessary pauses made by the speakers and the commentators.
In suffice to it, two observers Sangita Shakya & Manoj Bhujel shared their experiences on smart club and even said that they really liked the session. Then, OCA Mr. Santosh Acharya took the floor and said how the session in totality was. According to him the entry & exit of some audiences at the middle of session really disturbed the session. Apart from that he even tried to figure out the negative and positive aspects of the role takers. Finally, PDS Mr. Madan Raj Bhatta was awarded with the best speaker for the day with which 1st session ended.
Since the day was last week of the month, a presentation was shown. The presentation was made by some of the volunteers from FOSS Nepal. They emphasized on the necessity of Free Open Software Source in Nepal & described about its various advantages. They even distributed CDS for the installation of Linux in the computers. After that the role takers for next session was decided and then finally the 168th session of the smart club came to an end.
